Abstract

The article analyzes the contributions of the collection La Real Universidad. Estudios y Textos to the knowledge of Novohispanic universities and schools and it reflects on their contributions to the history of institutions, political, social and cultural history in Colonial Mexico.

María del Pilar Martínez López-Cano, Instituto de Investigaciones Históricas - Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México

Degree in Geography and Histroy from the Complutense University of Madrid; teacher and Doctor of History from the National Autonomous University in Mexico (UNAM). Full-time tenured researcher of the Institute for Historical Research at UNAM. Professor at licenciate and masters level in History at UNAM. Research subjects: economic and social history of New Spain; colonial credit and trade; Bull of the Crusade in New Spain.
