Abstract

The objective of this article is to present the results of the efficacy assessment of the Program to promote personal and professional capabilities in children’s education (PPCppEi for its acronym in Spanish) in the area of health promotion. The PPCppEi is a program designed for higher education students and seeks to promote self-knowledge / self-concept/ self-esteem, interpersonal communication, administration of the personal agenda, team-work, problem solution, observation/assessment, planning and weighting. To test its efficacy a quasi-experimental study with 114 higher education students was performed using the Beck Depression Inventory, 2nd edition. The results obtained at two assessment points, before and after the implementation of the program, revealed improvements in the subjects of the study group with regard to the reduction of depression symptoms.
