Abstract

The task of public universities, aimed at preparing young people for a future marked by the unprecedented challenges of globalization, makes it essential to review and rework the operation of these institutions in order to ensure that their relevance is maintained.  This essay proposes that, facing the challenge of training citizens with high levels of competitiveness, capable of developing in a world of global relations, what should be addressed is an interdependent economy in constant transformation, the economic, technological and global aspects as well; however, this should take place not in an isolated manner but as part of an integral social relevance.
