Abstract

Based on the most recent data that characterize the evolution of higher iberoamerican education this article analyzes the impact of massification and universalization of this educational level on the institutional platform that provides it, particularly with regard to the university component. It describes the ideal, spiritual, elite, mass, heteroclite and post-modern university and the reactions of the intelligentsia in face of this process.
